Bridgeland Recognized as “Community of the Year”
August 7, 2015
Westin Homes

– The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) announced today that Bridgeland®, an 11,400-acre master planned development in Cypress, has been recognized as the 2015 ‘Community of the Year’ by the Texas Association of Builders (TAB). The honor was a coveted part of TAB’s Star Awards, an annual competition showcasing the outstanding work of developers, builders and other real estate professionals in Texas. Bridgeland was evaluated, judged and ultimately selected by esteemed industry professionals from across the U.S.

As the largest master planned community in West Houston, Bridgeland is known to be in balance with nature and features more than 3,000 acres devoted to lakes, trails and parks. The community plan is designed to preserve, enhance and restore the natural environment, with existing lakes and creeks incorporated as one-of-a-kind amenities, including the enhancement of Cypress Creek Corridor, where 300 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians seek refuge. The area’s natural amenities are combined with a carefully-planned system of community parks and activity centers, such as Lakeland Activity Center, where residents enjoy a lap pool, tower slides and a 6,000 square-foot community center. On-site schools, churches and other recreational facilities are also easily accessible within Bridgeland.

“We are very proud of our efforts to provide residents with a beautiful, thoughtfully-planned community that offers outstanding amenities – all in an ideal location and setting,” said Peter Houghton, Vice President of Bridgeland. “This acknowledgment reaffirms that Bridgeland continues to be recognized as one of the premier communities in Houston region and the state of Texas.”

Since opening in 2006, Bridgeland has been awarded ‘Master Planned Community of the Year’ and ‘Developer of the Year’ among more than 100 other accolades, by organizations like National Association of Home Builders and the Texas Association of Builders.
